President Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Productive France Visit

Abuja, April 21, 2025 – President Bola Tinubu has arrived back in Nigeria after a nearly three-week working visit to France, where he held high-level talks to boost trade and security cooperation.

The President landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 9 p.m. on Monday and was welcomed by top government officials. His return follows concerns from some Nigerians over his absence amid renewed bandit attacks in Plateau and Benue states.

Before his arrival, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga confirmed the return in a social media post, stating, “President Bola Tinubu will return home today.” Onanuga also assured that the President remained in close contact with officials in Nigeria during his trip.

Tinubu left Nigeria on April 2 for what was initially described as a short working visit. While in Paris, he met with U.S. Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, to discuss stronger trade ties between Nigeria and the United States. The talks also focused on promoting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo through regional cooperation.

After his engagements in France, the President made a brief stop in London for further consultations before heading back to Abuja. His return is expected to ease public concerns and allow for direct oversight of security and economic matters at home.

This marks another step in Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s global partnerships while addressing domestic challenges.
